"Wow, Sarutobi-Sensei...You're a perv." ~Little!Jiraiya
I saw it.
I saw it at midnight on the night it came out.
I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about already, so I'll go on without bothering to explain.
Oh. My. God.
It. Was. In-fucking-credible.
A lot of people are complaining that it "didn't stay true to the books" or had "lost it's magic".
I wonder if these people were seeing the same movie as me. Cause the one I saw was DAMN good and the things that were changed were changed because 2 hours 18 minutes is about how long you can keep the average child's attention and/or bladder control. And mine, for that matter. And if you think you can do so much better, please call the producers and tell them you'd be better at it, and they'll give you the job straight away, I'm sure. Sweaty, nail-biting nerd.
Or better yet, they should make two versions. The first will come out before the promos for the second start. It'll just use every word and action from the book as its script, leaving nothing out and changing nothing. That way, by the time the first showing of this version is over (which of course all of the die-hards will go to) the second version (the normal, 2 hour 18 minute, sensible version) will have already come out on DVD and been forgotten, and the hype for the next die-hard version will already be considerable.
As I was saying....
Also, it was SLASHY. (Spoilers coming)
When Harry looks into the room where the order are meeting, it looks like Sirius has his arm around Remus' waist.
When Harry and Sirius have their little father-figure-and-son-figure moment, Remus leans in the doorway behind Sirius. Almost like - well...not exactly a mother-figure, but you get my drift.
The look on Remus' face when Sirius goes through the veil is absolutely devastating. I could hardly stand to watch it.
There is also a liberal amount of seemingly implied Harry/Sirius, but I choose to ignore it.
Bottom line, it was amazing.
Go see it.
Now.
